Proposed Phases of Construction

· Phase I creates NewTown as a financially and spiritually viable venture. Other phases will be developed over time.
· Phase II develops the co-housing and eco-village. This project offers affordable mixed-use housing and commercial development. Success may require partnering with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Wonderland Hill Development Company (a developer of co-housing communities)

I think this section is the key to moving forward and making the ideas reality. Although the "Needs" section teaches me information which surprised me and I didn't know, I think the way to get people to act is to focus on the actions you want to take.

Phase I is what I would focus on. Doing project management with Phase I, how can we break it down into smaller pieces? What needs to be in place before Phase II? What is most important to you about Phase I, and how can we quantify Phase I -- how do we know when we've gotten it done?

Best of all, what would you, as an individual person, most like to contribute to Phase I? If it's getting people involved, then how can we quantify which people to get involved, how many people, what they contribute, etc?

And in terms of our focus, whenever I've found people share themes of wanting "trust" or "communication" or anything, it's very hard to actually *create* trust or communication by focusing on it.

Instead, I like to say, "What do each of us want to get from our work, what ambitious vision would we like to share because of our work, and what work would each of us like to contribute?"

For example, is "A Services Network" part of Phase I? Should I recommend to my friends who work in health fields to sign up to have their health services promoted through Newtown? Will we measure the services part of Phase I as achieved when we have x number of people who've earned x dollars through the network? If not, what would we like to actually measure...since I believe we're more likely to get what we measure.

Or, asked another way, what things can you, with people you think would like to be involved, do in only a two-week timeframe, which will be an ambitious and fulfilling goal to move the project forward, and how will we know when we've achieved this first goal?
